Sorted….

After 12 months, my Hasselblad hassles have finally been banished!

After purchasing 2 Sony G-Tough SD cards, (which are constructed of metal rather than plastic) directly from Sony, I stuck them in the X1Dii, and all my problems with the camera disappeared instantly. I honestly thought I was going mad. I’ve numbered all my old SD cards, and tested them using the Blackmagic speed test app, and it’s clear that the speeds advertised on the cards are pretty much all way off. In terms of read speeds, they’re all on point, but write speeds are a different matter. Even the new, and ridiculously expensive Sony cards fall short of the 299Mb/s transfer speeds stated, but they’re good enough for reliable, daily use.

So, I can relax a bit, and get this gear to use. Now I just need a nice big property to get going properly.
