God almighty.

After doing some deep diving with Gemini AI, I found yet another caveat when using SD cards in my Hasselblad. The very expensive SD memory cards that I purchased from Sony are actually advised against in the camera user manual. (evidence shown above) My stupidity honestly knows no bounds.

I’ve had to order the holy grail of SD cards made by Sandisk, but because of the worldwide solid state memory shortages caused by the diversion of resources to the gargantuan AI data centres worldwide, they’re on back order. That’s another few hundred quid to try and solve the write-error problems associated with this bloody camera.

In fairness, in the meantime I’ve been using it succesfully for exteriors by only utilising the second card slot, and the results have been fantastic. I’ve got a multi million quid old-school mansion to shoot next week, and I’m tempted to risk it, and give the Hasselblad a proper job finally. That’s its raison d'être, so what better than a huge house to let it do it’s thing?
