Up and Running ….and Driving

If you recall, a recent post described how my attempt at renewing my car lease had been scuppered by the underwriting finance company due to “weak bank statements”. The broker which puts the lease deals together offered to appeal the decision and requested some additional documentation showing my close-to perfect credit score (997 out of 999), evidence of savings, and my current trading position. Once I’d collated this, it was dutifully sent off and after a few days my application was thankfully accepted. I’ll soon be handing back my trusty Kia Soul EV, and receiving a brand new BYD Seal Excellence in it’s place. I opted for a 3 year lease with a 60,000 mile quota for just short of five hundred notes a month including vat.

I spend extended periods in the car, and having a bit of comfort to relax in instead of clattering about in some old banger is essential at my delicate age. The clutch leg was a real issue when I had a manual car, and being stuck in start/stop traffic didn’t do me any good at all. This is similar to a Tesla but without the price tag and illogical hatred directed towards a bit of machinery because of some rich dudes actions in a foreign nation.

I’ll give a brief review once I’m in.
