Name in Lights…..Not

It’s always nice to see your own images featured in publications and online portals, although I’m way past the time when I found it “thrilling” in any way. I’ve been surprised occasionally when I’ve picked up a magazine at the dentists and unexpectedly come across an interior design shoot from the past, and coming across a property which has made the national press is fun (although the firms that promote the images always strip any credits away to look after themselves).

A recent lovely estate agency shoot of a prestige house near where I live was promoted in the regional newspaper’s website on the reach plc network, and as usual, the keyboard warriors were waiting in the wings to pop my balloon and bring me down to earth with a solid thump. All local news website comment sections are populated by some of the most disgusting indivduals known to mankind. I can often be found with my jaws agape at the vitriol, hatred, bigotry, and downright unpleasantness of the anonymously generated dialogue within.

On this occasion, there were two comments as follows:

Now, “wellhello123” made a comment about the property in general which reflected the attractiveness and value of the house in question, but as for “luglessdouglas” - there was no “dodgy” camera lens used mate - only a £1500 Laowa 15mm zero distortion shift lens on a £2500 Nikon D850, and another £2000 worth of tripod/tripod head/off-camera flashguns/remote control gear and iPad pro plus a foundation degree, 20+ years of experience, and a whole host of post production techniques.

Get back to watching daytime TV while eating yourself to death in your stained wife-beater vest, and leave the property marketing to me you thick jerk.
